December Daily: Christmas Lights!!

 On the grounds of a local Bible College there are 2 MILLION Christmas lights!!
We loaded up into the truck and headed there to walk through all of the fabulous lights!

 These people loved looking at all of the lights and deciding which ones they liked best!
By far the favorite was the tunnel of lights that was set to music!

 Such a fun night!
However, I couldn't help but think of how much more beautiful they would be with snow...but I'm guessing that, that is just the Michigan girl in me.

December Daily: A Bass Pro Christmas

 Another fun note to Santa. It's too bad she keeps changing her mind...poor Santa will be all confused & feeling guilty about not giving her what she requests!

 Santa!! The girls are starting to question why all the Santas in the stores look different. I'm struggling with lying to them or telling them that this Jolly Ol' Elf is just a myth. For now, Emma has decided that these are just people dressed up like Santa and the REAL Santa only comes out at Christmas time!

 Oh Kate!! I'm pretty sure this will be my favorite Christmas picture this year!!

We love a Bass Pro Christmas! Especially when we're the only ones there.

December Daily: Our 2012 Ornaments

 This is our first Christmas in our new home in Oklahoma! We are no longer nomads of this fine state. We have a home and a mortgage :) and are putting down some roots and after almost 2 years of renting and feeling like we didn't have a "home" we are celebrating HOME this Christmas!
Which helps since we're staying home and enjoying just our small family this season.

My sweet friend Stephanie sent us this ornament & frankly that is how I feel!! We're so excited about our sweet Ziggy coming in March and will treasure this ornament for years & years to come!!

Christmas Morning #2

 "Christmas" morning #2 took place on Thanksgiving day while Gramps & Grammy were visiting from Michigan!
We were delighted to have them here with us for almost a week.

 Grammy made new Christmas pjs for the kids
We opened gifts
Enjoyed a tasty {maybe a slightly burnt} breakfast

 Jonah the elf {AKA: Santa's spy} showed back up to report daily to Santa re: the behavior of three small Martin children!

 A few laughs were shared & our very own batman showed up!
I'm so thankful that we had this time with Gramps & Grammy since we won't be "home" to Michigan until May!

Winter Wear in Oklahoma!

An Oklahoma December...where shorts/skirts/flip flops are still acceptable and hats & mittens only stay on for about 20 minutes!
It's at least fun to pretend it's "cold"
Now to buy fake snow because I'm being told that Christmas isn't Christmas without snow! 

A Magical, Magical Night!

 We were offered free Nutcracker tickets through our homeschool group!
I snatched them up as fast as I could, one for me and one for each of the girls...however, Jeremy loves THIS ballet {that's why we have 35 nutcrackers in the house} and the girls really, REALLY wanted daddy to take them! So he used a vacation day for Friday night and I'm 100% sure it was worth it.

 We set a fancy table, made a nice dinner {although they were much to excited to eat}
Daddy & Reed bought roses for the girls, because what's a date without flowers?!!?!?!!

The little ladies got all dressed up in their new Christmas dresses
They danced and twirled as they waiting for the time to go!

They had a fabulous night! At 10:00p when they got home they told me all about the pretty dresses and showed me the fabulous dance moves!
They bought ballet shoe ornaments for our Christmas tree and even Daddy said he had a great night with his girls! He told me how Kate "conducted" the orchestra and how the girls loved the dresses and the dancing moves.
I'm so hoping that this is a yearly tradition! A special night with just a Daddy & his girls!
